Buying the Right Bra for Each Outfit

Last month I wrote a post about hot to buy bras that fitted perfectly. It proved to be a popular piece, so I decided to write another one this month.

Today’s article takes things a step further, and looks at how to find and buy the right bra for the style of dresses or tops that you most like to wear.

Low back dresses

If you want to wear low back dresses, you need to buy a wrap around bra with converting straps. Typically, these are more easily available in the summer months, so that is the best time to go shopping for one.

What to wear with dresses made from soft materials

Even if the cut of the dress will allow you to wear a standard bra without the straps being visible you still need to choose carefully. This is especially the case if the material is thin, or clingy.

If you wear a lot of clothes that are made out of lightweight fabrics, you really want to avoid lacy bras, because they are always partially visible through the material. It is far better to buy a seamless bra, or one that is made out of some sort of smooth material.

Summer dresses

In the summer when it comes to underwear, less is more. You want to wear a bra that is as lightweight as possible, but still gives you enough support. Summer dresses usually look better when worn with this type of bra, and you should not get as hot when wearing them.

Bras for halter neck dresses

Right now, halter neck dresses are not exactly fashionable. However, I am reliably informed that they are likely to come back into vogue soon, and I know a lot of people still wear them for parties, so I have decided to include them in this post. For this type of dress, a stick on bra really is the best option. These days you can buy them with transparent, convertible straps, which are ultra thin, but provide just that little more support than old-fashioned stick on bras did.

Summer tops and T-shirts

If you are planning to wear tops made out of t-shirt style material, or jersey, it is probably worth investing in a couple of sports bras. They offer a lot of support and are surprisingly comfortable to wear even when you are not exercising or taking part in a sport.

Where to buy

When it comes to buying lingerie, knowing where to shop is half the battle. So, I have found a good place for you to buy. I promise you that you are going to love this range of women’s bras.

This retailer sells every type of bra you can think of and, importantly, they sell them in sizes 28 to 56 and cup sizes D to L. They also have an excellent help page, which tells you exactly how to measure yourself so that you always get the fit right.

It really is worth investing in your underwear and making sure that you always have the right bra to wear. If you do so you will not only look good, you will also feel comfortable.
